Hi I'm Nidiam

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been blessed with two beautiful boys under 3 years old! I just turned 35. I have friends of many faiths and many cultures. My favorite cultures of interest at the moment are Vietnamese and many of the Indian cultures.

Why I am a Mormon

I know there is light to be found all over the world and in so many places but I find great peace in knowing that the priesthood that was here when Jesus was on earth is here on the earth again. John the Baptist had priesthood to be able to baptize Jesus. The 12 apostles had the priesthood. The bible teaches us about the aaronic and melchizedek priesthood. A non member of the LDS church and a real theologist by hobby told me once that the true church of Christ would have the Melchizedek priesthood and I also know this to be true. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has that priesthood. Baptisms can be conducted with the real priesthood. I am what some call a "mormon" a person who is a Christian that is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. I believe in the Bible and in the Book of Mormon--a book about the history of the people and prophets in ancient america that testify of Christ. I believe that the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ temples, eternal marraige, baptisms by immersion, prophets, apostles, true gospel principles are taught in this church.

How I live my faith

SHORT version.... I have callings in church, and I get to be a mommy at home. But if I have to work I certainly do. I try to live a Christian life wherever I go. I believe voting is soooo important. It's especially important to vote good local judges sometimes this gets overlooked. REALLY LONG version..... I'm a mom of two kids. As of june 2011 one is only 2 months and the other just barely 2 years old. I have a degree in marketing and worked in marketing for a long time but am soooo happy being a stay at home mommy. Before being a mom, I was also a full time public school teacher. At church my calling is "primary worker" it's a vague calling... a way of saying I get to teach wherever I am needed for kids under 12. For a year I got to teach in nursery. I was there so long I forgot my calling was "primary worker" and not "nursery teacher". My son was in there still is so it was perfect. Nursery is one of my favorite callings. As of recent I got to teach the 4 year olds. I am also a ward missionary. What that means is that I get to go out with the missionaries. I also get to visit recent converts and teach new member lessons. I received this calling almost 2 years ago and I think it was partly due because my husband and I were already frequently involved in the lives of new members anyway. I love people of all faiths and backgrounds. I love people. And I really do have a testimony of the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

Nidiam
Good question! Ok so church is where I go every Sunday like most Christians. I go there to renew my faith... to learn more about Jesus and God. I go there to be with other Christians who want to be righteous Saints. I go to church to take the sacrament bread and water that is consumed in memory of Jesus Christ for the atonement of my sins. atonement roughly means the washing away of my sins.... after a repentance process of course Church is where things like Bible study and sermon like classes are given. The temple is an especially sacred place where I don't go every Sunday but I go during the week hopefully at least once a month. Before my last son was born my goal was to go once a week. But since I've been feeding him 8 times a day, I have not gone once since he was born...yet. The temple is VERY sacred and an important place to attend. It can be compared to going to Mecca for muslims. This is sacred ground. This is where people are sealed to their families for eternity. This is where I can get baptised on behalf of my family that has already passed and did not know or receive the gospel. Show more Show less
