Hi I'm Jeff

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 25 years old, a former Division I baseball player, and a recent grad. In a few months I will be starting a career in finance.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by parents who are members of the LDS Church, so it is not surprising that I am myself a practicing, active Mormon as well. However, I would not continue in this lifestyle if I did not have my own personal conviction in the teachings of my church, independent of anybody else. I continue to live my life by the teachings of Jesus Christ because of the happiness, peace, and assurance which I derive therefrom. I firmly believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as revealed to us by God through modern-day prophets, provides us with the path by which we can reach our fullest potential as human beings. Continuous self-improvement and striving to be more Christ-like toward our families, friends, and fellow man will result in having the opportunity to live eternally with our loved ones.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an active participant in my local congregation, while looking for opportunities to serve others around me in any capacity I can.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

All Mormons are not required to serve a mission. Although it is encouraged, each individual has to make a personal decision whether or not to serve. Leaving your family and friends for two years as a young adult is a serious commitment. Missionary life is, in many ways, akin to military experience. You are expected follow the rigidly structured schedule without deviation. I do not believe many people could thrive as a missionary if they had based their decision to serve on anything other than personal conviction and a deep desire to share what they know to be true.  Show more Show less
