Hi I'm Chris

I was born and raised in Mesa, AZ and have been a Mormon all my life and love my Saviour Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Chris. I have been a Mormon all of my life. I have been married for more than 30 years to a sweet loving wife and have two wonderful daughters and two grandchildren. I own a small business which keeps me very busy but I enjoy the work and being my own boss. I love to travel and have been to Venezuela (as a church missionary), Mexico, Guatemala, China and around twenty of the states. Having lived all of my life in Arizona it will always be my favorite despite the hot summers. I am the youngest son in a family of 11 kids. Most of my brothers and sisters still live in AZ. Another reason I love AZ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and have always tried my best to live the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It wasn't until I served as a missionary in Venezuela that my testimony of the Book of Mormon and of Joseph Smith as a prophet of God was really tested. I always felt the love of the Saviour in my home growing up. I knew of His love for me by the example my parents set as they lived the teachings of Christ. Teaching others about the Book of Mormon and the restoration of Christ's church to the earth gave me a great desire to know for myself, instead of just accepting what I had been taught by my parents, if the Book of Mormon was true and if Joseph Smith was a true prophet. After lots of personal prayer, scripture study and fasting I have gained a testimony of the Gospel of Christ, that the Book of Mormon is true and that we once again have prophets on the earth to teach us God's will. Nothing brings me more comfort today than to know that my Father in Heaven loves and knows me personally and that Christ has atoned for my sins and that one day I can be with my Father in Heaven again and with my loved ones that have gone on before me.

How I live my faith

I have lived all of my life in Mesa, AZ and have come to know alot of people in the community. It has always been obvious to me that the happiest people I know are the ones that are serving and helping others. I have found that same happiness and peace by doing my best to serve others also. My parents set the example by always being available to help others when the need came up. As a missionary in a Venezuela many years ago I gained a greater appreciation for the blessings that God has given me both spiritually and physically. When the electricity would go out in the high rise buildings we would help people carry water in buckets up to their apartments. A small thing to do but they were always grateful and it gave me a great feeling to have helped someone in need. My favorite opportunities to serve in the church has been to be a teacher of various age groups in Sunday School and Primary classes. Seeing kids that are eager to learn is great. I have come to love all of the many kids that I have taught over the years. Getting together with the men's groups to help others with yard work, moving, painting, etc. has always increased my faith in God and His love for His children here on earth. To see the appreciation and relief that others feel from their load being lightened is great. I have always belived that God's work will be done by us and we are greatly blessed both spiritually and physically by serving others. I hope that I will be able to continue to serve others for a long time to come.
