Hi I'm Austin

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well, just recently I married the girl of my dreams! We were married in the Mount Timpanogos Temple on May 1st, 2010. Both my wife and I are attending college; I'm majoring in accounting and my wife in family and consumer science education. My plan is to get a masters degree and then go into public accounting. In addition to my school work, I love playing the piano, ultimate frisbee, bike riding, and enjoying my wife's wonderful cooking!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ makes me happy! I love reading the scriptures, listening to the words of prophets and apostles, and praying to my Father in Heaven. Doing all of these things has helped me learn about God's plan of happiness for me--and the more I learn about God's love and plan for me, the more secure and happy I feel, no matter what’s going on in my life.

How I live my faith

One of the programs in LDS church called home teaching. This program basically ensures that each family in the congregation has a set of "home teachers" that visit, teach, help, love, etc. those families they're assigned to fellowship--It's a really neat program. I have several families that I visit on a monthly basis with another man in the congregation. It's really fun to develop friendships with these families, learn from their experiences, and do whatever I can to serve them. One of my favorite parts of these monthly visits is preparing and sharing a little spiritual message with the families. It's also really fun just to visit and chat with them.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Austin
I'm lucky; I loved the home I was raised in! My parents did a wonderful job of teaching my sister and me how to be happy and successful in life, no matter the circumstances we would be placed in. Looking back, I've realized that the home is one of the best places to learn and practice good principles--principles that will bless you for the rest of your life. My parents did a wonderful job of helping my sister and I learn the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ that would help us make good decisions and have happy lives. Show more Show less
