Hi I'm Jenn

I am a daughter, a sister, a mother and a wife. I am a work in progress. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom to three boys. I have been married for 16 years. I am a college student again after an 18 year break. I love to read and learn. I really like cute girl shoes (remember, I live in a house of only boys!)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of how I feel and who I am when I follow the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I did not attend church consistently until I was 15 years old. I knew what it was like not to have God be a part of my life. As I began attending church and reading the Book of Mormon and talking to God through prayer I felt like I had found my home. Being a Mormon has always felt right. It's kind of like falling in love. There are certain characteristics that you like and admire in someone, but love is more about how you feel when you are with them. I love being a Mormon because of that peace and comfort I feel.

How I live my faith

I am a leader in our Young Women's organization, which is the youth group for young girls ages 12-18. We have fun together and learn together and help each other to know and understand God's plan for each of us. I am blessed because even though I have no daughters of my own, I get to be mothering to a whole group of girls. And sometimes they're even okay with that! Living my faith is not only about how I serve or work within my congregation. It's also about who I am and how I act in every aspect of my life. Being a Mormon is not just a twice a week activity. My faith is what guides and directs me through my day. Am I perfect about always being mindful of the Lord and His will for me? No. That's part of my work in progress mode that I am in. But I try to do a little better every day to remember that there's more than just laundry and homework and dishes to worry about. Heavenly Father has a plan for us and my goal is to make sure that I'm keeping myself as near His plan for me as I can.
