Hi I'm Andrew

I have three passions in life: my family; my religion; and running.

About Me

I married my wife in 2001 and have 5 wonderful children. I have bachelors degree in French and a masters degree in computing science. I enjoy running and use it keep fit and as a stress release. I regularly compete in running races for fun and can be seen running with my family at the local weekly parkrun. I have chosen to keep Sundays sacred and, therefore, will not compete in races on a Sunday. I enter races that are on days other than a Sunday and this sometimes requires me to travel long distances. I know that by keeping Sundays sacred I am following the teachings of Christ. I love how my family are supportive of me when I run and love it when they cheer me on at races. I was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission for the Church in Bordeaux, France. I love the Loire region of France and regularly going camping there with my family. Tours is my favourite place and I love to visit the city everytime we go.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up I was one of the few members of the Church at my school and would regularly be teased about it. At the age of 15/16 I decided to make a decision to either continue going to church or stop going. I decided to pray to my Heavenly Father to know if the church is true. I prayed and studied the scriptures daily and after a period of time I received a witness through the Holy Ghost that the church is true. I love the opportunies the church gives me to serve others.

How I live my faith

I love to serve in the Church. I have had the opportunity to serve in many different positions in the Church. I have served a youth leader, teacher and I'm currently serving as the Bishop in the local ward. I like how my faith is part of my life. I enjoy studying the scriptures and praying together with my family.
