Hi I'm Dustin

I live in Las Vegas with my wonderful family. I love playing sports. I'm a Firefighter and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I have lived in Las Vegas since '97. I met my wonderful wife here in Vegas. We have been married for 8 wonderful years. We have one 7 year old boy and a 5 year old girl. They are the best things that ever happened to us. I love playing catch with my son and coaching his soccer team. My daughter is the prettiest princess ever and she makes sure I know it! I have been a firefighter for 3 years. It took me 6 long years of a lot of hard work, dedication and a lot of prayers, to finally get a job as a firefighter. I am glad I stuck in there. Life is good.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon to me is something special. Being Mormon has helped me become the son, brother, husband and father that I am today. I have been a Mormon all of my life. My parents taught me about Jesus Christ and His Church on the Earth today. This has helped me a great deal, but there has been times in my life that I could not just be ok with what my parents told me. I needed to know for myself that Jesus Christ is My Savior, That Joseph Smith was called of God as a prophet and that through him the true church of Jesus Christ was brought back to this earth. Also that the Book of Mormon is the word of God along side the Bible. I can tell you that I do know these things are true for myself. I have seen many great things that my Heavenly Father has done for me in my life and in my family and I know it is because I am a Mormon. I know I want to continue to become a better husband and father every day and I want to teach my children that they have a loving Father in Heaven and that he gave his Son Jesus Christ as a personal savior to them that they might be able to look to him in all things in their lives. I know this because I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to be actively involved in my community and at church. I participate as a Board member in my homeowners association trying to help our community be a great place to raise families. At church I am in charge of all of the records of the members of the church that live close to me in what we call a Ward. It is a very important job because I need to make sure that all of the members are accounted for. We want to make sure that they are doing good physically, mentally, and spiritually. It is also important to know where everyone lives so that we can look out for each other in case of something big like an emergency or even something small as someone getting the flu and needing some help. I am great-full to be able to help others and share my time and talents with others to help them become better people.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Having faith in Jesus Christ leads us to action. We will want to be better people. To me having faith in Jesus Christ makes me want to be a better dad to my kids. Christ gave his life for each of us. He suffered for us individually and so he knows us individually. Knowing that, I need to know my kids, everything about them. The best way to get to know them for me is spending time with them; reading a book, riding a bike, going to the park. I know if I spend time with them they will always know that I love them and that they can talk to me about everything in their life. Show more Show less
