Hi I'm Andy Ibarra D.

I'm from the Philippines. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I became a member of the Church when I was 12 years old. I love reading the scriptures and also other self-help books. Usually, I hang out with my friends and study the gospel together at the Institute of Religion where we can share our views about the Gospel. I am currently studying in college and a volunteer teacher in the Institute of Religion.

Why I am a Mormon

During my childhood days, I was raised in a devoted Roman Catholic family. When I was in my elementary years, we usually go to church after class. We we're called "Sakristan" (one who helps the priest during masses) that time. Until missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints came to our home and taught us the gospel that I came to understand. The night after the missionaries taught us, a feeling of peace came to my mind as I prayed and talked to God, asking Him if Joseph Smith really was a prophet of the Lord. Right then and there, I came to know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God. I believe it with all my heart. I will never forget the feeling when missionaries came to our house until I got baptized with one having the authority. It's a feeling of wanting-to-know-more. It's a feeling of peace and calmness inside me. Though I was 12 yrs. old then, I will never forget that day.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a youth leader in our branch. We usually conduct and organize activities where the youth and other single adults meet and have great time together without compromising their standards. We also organize monthly activities in the Institute of Religion for the young single adults, college students and seminary students where they can learn more about the gospel in a fun way, meet and have new friends.
