Hi I'm Angela

I am the mother of four wonderful kids, an avid reader, a "sugaratarian" (according to my husband)... and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 22 years. I have a 21 year old son who is blind and mildly autistic, a 17 year old daughter, and twin girls that are 15. I would rather read a great book than just about anything else...well, except maybe eating something really scrumptious!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As I got older I knew I had to find out for myself if I truly believed what I had been taught all my life. Through prayer and scripture study I came to know deep within my heart that this is Christ's church on earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is God's word and was given to us to help us on our journey back to Him. I know that Christ lives and that He loves all mankind. Because of His atonement we can be healed of our sins and sorrows, if we but choose to follow Him. There are times when I feel "homesick" for my heavenly home. I long to be back with my Savior, and feel His loving arms wrapped around me. Being a member of His church has helped me to feel as close to being "home" as I could ever be while I am here on earth.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a leader to the young women in my church. It is challenging, but very rewarding! I also visit with a few sisters each month to see how they are doing and to help them in any way I can. Doing this has helped me to form friendships with women I normally wouldn't have the chance to get to know very well. I try to live my life as I feel the Savior would want me to, in all aspects of it. Even though I fall short of that often, I know He still loves me and will always be there to help me as I go through this life.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are just like any other women. We try to be good moms, wives, friends, and role models in our community. We have struggles and heartache, joy and peace...sometimes all in the same day! Some of us work outside the home, but if possible we are encouraged to stay at home to raise our children, as motherhood a divine calling from God. We believe that men and women are equally important and are to be a support to one another. Show more Show less
