Hi I'm Mike.

I am a dentist that loves geocaching, reptiles, and college football. I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a father of three beautiful little girls and love spending time with them and my wonderful wife. As a family we like to read, explore new places, and learn interesting things about the world around us. I love to play volleyball, ultimate frisbee, and basketball. Though I technically work as a dentist, my dream job would be to host my own nature show on Animal Planet.

Why I am a Mormon

Having been raised in a devoutly Mormon family, I wasn't exposed to a lot of different religions growing up. However, when I left home and started experiencing unique areas of the world, numerous different churches, and countless distinct individuals of varying theological belief systems, I found that nowhere did I find as clear of answers as I had always found in the Mormon church. The doctrine of the Mormon church makes total sense to me, and that is exciting intellectually. However, I'm not a Mormon because it logically explains things. I'm a Mormon because I believe God truly wants humble seekers of truth to find it, and that he will answer our sincere questions as we approach him through prayer. He has answered mine time and time again through the reassuring peace of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

My faith permeates everything that I do and am. My understanding that each of us is a literal son or daughter of a loving God affects how I treat each person I meet. My understanding of the great plan of happiness that God has prepared that we may return to his presence helps me to strive to excel as a husband and father. My understanding of Jesus Christ's role as our savior and redeemer and of the infinite suffering on our behalf serves as motivation to serve others, keep the commandments, and resist sin and temptation.
