Hi I'm Todd

About Me

My family and I live in the Phoenix, Arizona area. I am an executive for a large technology company and work from a home office. We have 6 kids! The oldest is 18 and the youngest 5. I went to high school in North Carolina and served as a missionary in Chile during a very interesting time in that country's history. I really enjoy being together with my family. We face the challenges of life, like everyone, but really appreciate the eternal prospective the Gospel of Jesus Christ provides as we try to overcome these challenges.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are Mormon, but like everyone, I had to decide for myself what I believe and why I believe it. Prior to being a missionary, I really questioned everything and decided to earnestly understand for myself. I was one of a few Mormons in my high school so it was easy to ask others about their beliefs. I asked teachers, friends and others. I studied the Bible, especially the New Testament, every morning before school. I knew I believed in God and in Jesus so I didn't explore Asian or Muslim or other schools of thought. The point of inflection for me came as I concluded my study of the New Testament and began to study the Book of Mormon to compare. The feelings of assurance, clarity of thought and confirmation of Bible principles were undeniable for me. I prayed and asked God if it were a true book and feelings of assurance came to me which I attributed to the Holy Ghost. It was then that I was able to see that if the Book of Mormon was scripture, then the church was true. I decided then that I wanted to be a missionary and that experience and service set a great focus for my life.

How I live my faith

I am the scout master in our ward/congregation. There are 22 scouts in this group, a few of which are not members of our faith. I enjoy teaching these boys gospel principles and how these can serve as a guide for living our lives.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Young men are encouraged to serve, but they have to have an assurance and testimony that the Gospel is true and must have conducted their lives in accordance with these beliefs. Show more Show less
