Hi I'm Darryl

I am happy to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

I have been a member since I was ten years old. I served a mission in Costa Rica in 1990 to 1992 and really drew close to God and realized how important it was for me to have him in my life. I am married with four kids and I have worked in law enforcement for about 14 years.

Why I am a Mormon

When I first joined the church it was on my blind faith in my parents beliefs. Over the years I had great youth leaders that truly challenged each of us that participated, to draw nearer to God and gain our own testimony of him and his church. I took this challenge seriously and I received my own personal witness for our Heavenly Father through the confirming power of the Holy Ghost. I had always heard from others about receiving their confirmation of the truthfulness which they seemed to have received quickly. My spiritual confirmation of the church took me a little while that required a lot of scripture searching as well as asking many questions. I know that once I received my confirmation of the truthfulness, it was such a comfort to know that what I was doing was right and I was receiving many wonderful blessings from the Lord because of my faithfulness.

How I live my faith

One thing that I learned from my mother is that need to serve others. I try to spend as much free time that I have in the service of others. I love working with the youth in scouts and helping the young women with their camp that they do every year. Since most of my children are currently in young men and young women groups I try hard to help them and others have great experiences like I received from my youth leaders growing up. I work hard in the scouting organization to help these young men realize that they are very capable of starting and completing great projects as long as they apply themselves.
