Hi I'm Michael

I am in the Navy Reservist, an Electronic Systems Engineer, and a father of 4 children. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 4 children. I serve in the Navy Reserve force while working full time as an Electronics Engineer and studying for a masters. I like hiking, biking, and skiing for outdoor activities. I like working on computers and watching movies with my family for indoor activities. I like fixing everything I can myself. If I don't know how to fix something, I like to learn how it works. I have an Associate in Science degree, Bachelor of Science degree, and I am working on my Master of Science degree.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined this church in 1994 while serving active duty in the Air Force overseas in Germany. I found this church when I became painfully aware that something was missing in my life. It literally felt like a void that could not be filled with any substance or person. After dealing with the death of my Grandmother and pondering on the true meaning of our life on this Earth, I found a friend who introduced me to the missionaries after he briefly explained their beliefs to me. I became excited when I learned Mormons believed principles I believed to be true while no other church taught this as part of their gospel. After talking with the missionaries and learning all the principles, I have to admit I did feel odd about a modern day prophet since I was always taught there were none. I was invited by the missionaries to have my own personal prayer and promised that I will receive an answer from God. One night, alone in my room, I prayed as sincerely as I knew how, for an answer that all that was preached to me by these missionaries and that this gospel I was reading was really true. A few seconds after closing my prayer, I received a great answer that I cannot describe. It was then that I knew the Lord knew me, heard my prayer, and had given me a great revelation that this church was His church, and that all the principles of this gospel are true. All doubt was removed and I could not deny this great gift and revelation. I was baptized soon after. It was soon after that I realized the blessings of my choice. I met my future wife, who was a member of the church, two years after my baptism. It did not take long to realize we were a perfect match and we married 6 months later. I now enjoy being a Mormon because of the joy, peace, and stability it brings to me and my family in our daily lives; especially when challenges or changes come our way. I hope everyone can find this peace in their lives.

How I live my faith

I enjoy visiting others in their home once a month and providing assistance to those in need when the need arises.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Michael
Without a Savior, we do not have a path to be in the presence of God because of our sins. We must be clean to enter in the presence of God. We cannot cleanse our own sins, only a Savior who is without blemish or sin can do this for us. Show more Show less
