Hi I'm Katherine Bentley

I'm a Mormon. I love having the gospel in my life, I am so happy that I have God and Jesus Christ to love me and be there for me.

About Me

I am a mother. My son is 4 years old and all boy! He is always on the go and keeps me on my toes! I have another boy due in April 2012. I've been married to best guy in the world for 6 years now. I love the outdoors and am either camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, 4wheeling. I love to garden and most of our back yard has been converted into vegetables and fruit.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon. I was baptized at 8 and I remember knowing at that age that I had a strong testimony of this church and the Gospel. So I chose to become a member and be baptized. I will never forget the feeling I felt when I came out of the water and later when they laid hands upon my head to give me the Gift of the Holy Ghost. I've been a faithful member ever since. I have always gone to church every Sunday (unless sick). I am Mormon because of my experiences in being a part of this faith... I have been a part of many blessings that have shown me this gospel is true and I cannot deny the miracles of God. They are experiences that confirm that there is a God and that Jesus Christ is my savior. I am Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon and KNOW it is a book of God and everything written is accurate and true.. I have read this book over and over every year and not only is it exciting to read, it speaks to me wherever I am in my life; and of course that is my Heavenly Father speaking to me, telling me what I need to know. I am Mormon because I believe in eternal families and I believe in God's Plan for us to return to him. I follow His gospel because of the pure joy I receive from doing what is right... and knowing from experience that there is no greater joy than what I feel when the Spirit of my Heavenly Father is with me.

How I live my faith

You could say I am a devout Mormon. I love my faith and I look forward to every Sunday because I really love to go to church. I read the scriptures every day and say prayers with my family as well as personal prayers. I am constantly in hungry mode when it comes to learning the gospel... I am always looking for books to read and positive things that will help educate me. I love to learn about My Savior and what He did and does for us. I am the Cubmaster in Cub Scouts (that's my calling in church).I love my calling; the boys are full of energy and its so fun to teach them and watch them learn how to be men someday. I have an amazing ward.. We are like a family unit. We have a great mix of old and new and especially for my age group... Us ladies get together 3x a week to exercise and once a week for play dates. So I really love how friendly and close my ward is. I live my faith and am always trying to be a better person and more like Christ.

What are some of the ways that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps those around the world?

Katherine Bentley
Through our Relief Society, we are constantly making blankets, clothing, putting together kits for hygiene, food, etc. Also members donate money that goes to our relief organizations to help with any possible need in a disaster... food, water, clothing, etc. We teach the people how to provide for themselves, which is so profound : If you give a man a fish you feed him for a day; if you teach a man to fish you feed him for a lifetime! What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Katherine Bentley
Yes visitors are always welcome! Our services are always positive and of course focused on God and Jesus Christ. Ask someone you know who is Mormon to go to church with them.. They will always say yes and be happy to take you... If not call our missionaries they will go with you. Or you can ask me! I'd be happy to go with you so you know someone when you go.
