Hi I'm Judy

About Me

I'm a single adult. I was a single parent until my children grew up and left the home. Now I am employed by the Church as a support specialist in an Institute of Religion working with the young adults. I have two children who preceeded me in death. I look forward to the day when I can be with them again and enjoy their association. I've been a member of the church all my life and never dreamed life would go the way it has but one cannot predict the future.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the gospel is true. When I was a child of about eight years old I had a dream in which I was inside a building similiar to the ones of biblical times with their rock walls and floors and dim lighting. As I was walking down a hall I got the distinct feeling that if I just went around the next corner of the room, the Savior would be there. Then I woke up. I believe that was a valuable lesson to me. I know now that my Savior is just that close and will be beside me if I ask Him to be. I've learned through the years and because of my trials that I am dependant on the Lord for everything, including each breath I draw. He never lets my down and supports me in every good thing I do. I can't thank Him enough for his goodness to me. It's important to live gospel teachings to prepare to be with Him again.

How I live my faith

I've always loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and have enjoyed serving in the organization with the children. My favorite calling with the children has been music director. I really love teaching them the songs of the gospel and helping them to get a testimony through music. I also enjoy directing the ward choir and teaching classes to the adult women. Because I'm more of a participant than a spectator, I like to be involved in many areas of the ward. Serving the Lord in my callings has always been top priority for me. I believe that to be my way of showing Father in Heaven just how much I love him and my Savior, Jesus Christ.

Why do Mormons believe in “eternal life?”

Judy
Eternal life is living in the presence of God. I can think of nothing better than living in a community where love is unconditional, where I am valued for who I am, and where I can continue to grow and learn to reach the potential within me. Show more Show less

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Judy
I believe the growth comes as a result of the examples of the members. As I observe the young adults at the university, I see them introducing their friends and associates to the church. Then when these young adults hear the gospel, their hearts are touched by the truthfulness of it. Those two things are a huge influence on others looking for the truth. Show more Show less
