Hi I'm JJ

I am a father and husband. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family and I currently live in Nebraska. We have been here for almost 3 years. We've decided we like Nebraska except for its bitter and cold winters and its hot and humid summers. So I guess that leaves the brief fall and brief spring that we enjoy. My wife and I are originally from Utah. Our daughter was born and raised in Nebraska. I guess that makes her a true Cornhusker. In Nebraska I like to jog on the many biking trails, watch the sunsets, and play basketball and golf whenever I get a chance.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon. My parents and others in the church taught me many of the teachings of Jesus Christ. Throughout my life I have tried to apply those teachings in my life. I have found the teachings are good and true. The teachings have helped me make good decisions and helped me have a good attitude and perspective in my life. I believe much of my happiness comes from living these teachings. I also believe living these teachings will lead us back to our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I have the opportunity to share a spiritual message with a congregation each month. I have shared messages about faith, the atonement, repentance, the Holy Ghost, living the gospel of Jesus Christ, strengthening the family, spiritually strengthening others, and so on. I also have the opportunity to work with the youth in my area. For example, this summer I attended young womens camp for a couple of days and lead (and got lost for some time) a group of young women on a hike. Recently I had an opportunity to participate in a pioneer trek with the youth. With a handcart in hand, I trekked over 20 miles with the youth across the plains much like the Mormon pioneers did many years ago. These experiences have helped me spiritually grow and understand the gospel of Jesus Christ. I hope also that I have influenced others for good.
