Hi I'm Rosalin Nelson

I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend. I love life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Wife, a Mom, a Daughter, a Sister - these are my most favorite titles! I enjoy creating through sewing, music, cooking, and writting. I love nature, and observing the world around me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that had the Mormon faith for generations, yet that is not why I have chosen to remain a member of this faith. I have learn for myself of the joy that comes from making a keeping covenants with a loving Father in Heaven who is aware of me and my individual needs, and helps me minute by minute. I have come to know that there is a Plan for me, and that this plan gives me direction in my life. I know that when I make mistakes I can repent because of the Atonement of the Savior Jesus Christ. He not only has set a perfect example of how to pattern our lives, but has put in place a way for us to overcome our weakness' and improve daily. I remember sweet moments when the Holy Ghost has taught me truth, looking at the stars in the sky and knowing that I was known and loved by a Father in Heaven. l I have felt the peace that comes from striving to live those thing that the Prophet of God on earth today has taught us. I am so thankful to know that just as in times of old we have not been forgotten today, there are Prophets and Apostles on the earth to guide us and direct us. I receive strength and peace every day I choose to open the scriptures and read, pouring certainty into my life in a very uncertain world. As I send our children out into the world daily, I feel help and strength knowing that we have prayed, read scriptures, and done all we could to help the spiritually be strong. To know that this life is not all there is, that I am in a point of proving myself, and working to return Home to Heaven helps put things in a different perspective. I am a Mormon because of these things and because this faith helps me be better. My life is blessed in every way because of the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I try daily to live my faith through reaching to others and helping. I enjoy leading music for the children in church, as we learn songs I try to see what they can teach me and then try to live them. One of my favorites is a song that the words state, "If the Savior stood beside me would I do the things I do?" This has helped me think of what I am doing each day, and am I following the Savior Jesus Christ as I go about my daily activities. As a Mom I think that this is most important as I work in our home to have a enviorment where love is always felt - I don't always succeed - but my goal is to have our children feel the love of the Lord through me, and I try to make our home a safe place for them to be. As a wife I hope that I am supportive in helping my Husband achieve all that he is striving to do and become.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Rosalin Nelson
Donating 10% of our income is often refered to as tithing in the Church. We belive that all we have is from God our Father in Heaven, he loves us so much and gives us our breath, our lives, ... all things.By giving our tithes or 10% we show our love and commitment to him. In the Old Testament of the Holy Bible in the book of Malichi, we are taught there these words, "Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings." The Lord askes for us to be willing to give freely those things which He gives us. I know that as we follow this commandment we will be blessed. In fact this same scripture goes on to give a promise for us. "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." In our home we have seen this promise fullfilled. This I know that whenever we are asked to do something of the Lord, no matter how hard it may seem, that He will always bless us with more that we could have imagined. He keeps His word.
