Hi I'm Thomas

I enjoy spending time my wonderful wife. I study Public Relations at Brigham Young University Idaho. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student in Idaho working towards a degree in Public Relations. I served in England as a missionary for the church and loved every moment! I recently got married and now enjoy spending time with my wonderful wife. I'm interested in politics and love talking about current events. I also like to play sports and just being outdoors!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I believe in God and that he sent his son, Jesus Christ to atone for our sins. That is to say that he paid the penalty of all the sins, mistakes, pains, and burdens of all mankind. Because of this He can comfort us perfectly in the midst of these afflictions and if we have sinned, Christs' Atonement makes it possible to come back to God and be clean again no matter what we have done. We are asked to repent (make changes and turn away from sin) to receive this blessing that has already been given nearly 2000 years ago. I am a Mormon because I have seen this work in my life and in the lives of others. I also know that God speaks to us, His children and we can speak to him through prayer. Prophets are men called by God to help us know and understand His will. Abraham, Moses, and Isaiah were such prophets. Joseph Smith, born in 1805AD was also called to be a prophet, through him the Lord reveled new scripture (the Book of Mormon) and organized this church. There is a prophet today. God is speaking. I believe this because I have read the Book of Mormon and asked him if it was true. It is! It has brought me closer to God and increased my faith. It is a witness of Jesus Christ. This is His church and in it I have found nothing but how to be happy in life now, and how to one day come home to live with Him again.

How I live my faith

I am not perfect at living my faith, but I try and give it my best shot. I believe that Christ gave us all the perfect example of how to live. Christianity is a way of life, following Christs' example. I strive every day to improve and do a little better in following Him, obtaining his attributes, and helping others. Some days are better than others, but that is one of the things what life is about, never giving up! The church also provides many opportunities to offer Christlike service in many capacities. Every month I share a message from the prophet to a few other members of my congregation and offer any help they may stand in need of. It feels good to serve others and develop friendships. Often many of us will meet together to share an uplifting message and play games to strengthen each other and meet new people.
