Hi I'm Steven

My wife of 37 years and I are the parents of 7 awesome children and the grandparents of 11 so far. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife of 37 years and I are the parents of 7 awesome children and the grandparents of 11 (so far).  My family is the main source of joy in my life.  I love my family.  We moved to Rexburg Idaho in 2013 and we love it here.  I also enjoy photography, gardening, hiking, fishing and sailing.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and was baptized at the age of 8.  As I grew up my parents were great examples for me and my siblings and I were taught the gospel of Jesus Christ at home as well as at church.  Through personal study and prayer and the influence of the Holy Ghost I have gained my own testimony of the veracity of the Book of Mormon.  I know it is a true record of people who inhabited this continent anciently.  I know that the Book of Mormon was translated through the power of God by Joseph Smith.  The Book of Mormon contains teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ that were taught by ancient prophets and Jesus himself when he personally visited the people following his resurrection.  I love to read from it’s pages and have gained much from the truths it contains.

How I live my faith

I love being a member of the church.  It is like a being a member of a very large family.  It is the same no matter where you are.  The same truths are taught in every congregation.   I love how the church emphasizes the importance of the family and is organized in a way to support and assist parents.  My family has been richly blessed through our participation in church meetings and activities. I appreciate the opportunities the church gives us to serve each other.  I am currently serving as a Ward Mission Leader and I love working with the full time missionaries and others in my ward who are sharing The Book of Mormon and the gospel of Jesus Christ with those who are interested in learning.  It is so rewarding to see the joy obtained by many in our community who through their own study and prayers gain their own testimonies of the truthfulness of The Book of Mormon, gain a better understanding of the gospel and join the church.  Two of our children are currently serving as full time missionaries and they are having similar experiences helping people understand and accept the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Their service has been a blessing for the people they have taught and invited to come to Christ, and they themselves have grown and gained so much through the service they have given
