Hi I'm Linda

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to my best friend and am a mother to 5 wonderful boys, plus I am blessed to be a grandma to an adorable one year old girl. I love to draw and paint portraits, sing, laugh, play games with my family, and I enjoy being outside in the sunshine doing yard work. I work part-time as a substitute teacher in our small community in Nevada. This year I plan on taking a photography class at our community college so I can paint portraits from the photos I take.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this world with Mormon parents and was baptized at the age of eight. I attended church every week, went to Mutual Wednesday evenings, seminary during High school, institute while in college, and a church college. Basically I was a good Mormon girl. Although I attended religion classes I had no idea what the Book of Mormon was even about I was more interested in the social aspect of life. During my 24th year I came to a crossroads in my life I needed to know if the church was true. For a week I prayed, I fasted, and I read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover. One day, while I was reading the Book of Mormon, It became very clear to me that The Book of Mormon is a true book. A strong emotional impression came over me and touched my spirit, testifying that Jesus is the Christ, Joseph Smith is a true prophet, and that the Book of Mormon is a true book. I am much older now, but that impression has never left me and became my foundation for future understanding. As I continue to study scripture, pray, and strive to keep the commandments, my testimony grows and I see the lord's hand more clearly in my life.

How I live my faith

I try very hard to be a good example to my children. In the morning we pray and read scriptures. I talk freely about my belief and encourage them to live like the Savior. Most of my boys are grown and out of the house one has served a full-time mission and another is still out serving faithfully. I have worked with the youth most of my adult life as a leader in the church. Right now I have a calling in the Young Women program. My goal is to help young women learn how to be leaders as they organize uplifting activities for themselves and others. Because of this calling I have had the opportunity to teach young women to center their lives on Christ by example, visits, and lessons taught. I have a great love for the youth and have extended this love as I work in the community as a substitute teacher. I hope that I can be an influence for good in many youth's lives.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

The Mormon Church does not endorse political parties. At church I have been encouraged to research, pray and vote for those who are most qualified.  Show more Show less
