Hi I'm Tadlee

I'm a teacher, wood worker, committed husband and father, and grateful to be a Mormon.

About Me

I am happily married. I have 6 wonderful kids, 5 boys, and one girl whom we call our 'genetic miracle.' I love to road bike, and work with wood. I have the best job in the world, I am a teacher. I enjoy playing sports, especially basketball. I coach about anything my kids do (even though I haven't played most of the sports!) I love to sing, and play a little guitar. Authentic Mexican tacos of carne asada are my absolute favorite food with cilantro, lime, and the works. And lastly, I am a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ changed my family's life completely! Heartache and pain have been replaced with joy, and understanding. My parents joined when I was young. Their decision turned our family around for the better. I could tell it had really helped them in their marriage, and in life in general. Why am I Mormon? Why wouldn't I be?! I wouldn't want to walk away from this joy. I am also Mormon because I have read and prayed about the Book of Mormon many times. During my teenage years, and even now, it brings my heart closer to the Savior Jesus Christ. When I read it and really try to understand it, I get 'text' messages from heaven. I can feel the Spirit of the Lord not just in my heart, but in the very room I read it in. I receive guidance and direction that help me become a better husband, father, and teacher (my profession.) I know that the Book of Mormon is true. This is how I came to know that Christ does have a Church on the earth today. I am so grateful my parents found it. I know it is true.

How I live my faith

The place where I have opportunities to live my faith the most is within the walls of my own home. Fatherhood is very rewarding. There I have many opportunities every day to follow the Savior and be patient, forgiving, offer service, etc. Do I always do this? No! I come up short regularly. But as I am raising my kids and family, I have discovered that the thing that impresses kids the most is not that I am a perfect father, but that I am actively trying to improve myself. That is a lesson I hope they carry on with their kids. I also try to protect my family spiritually. The first thing that helps me do this is to worship with them on Sunday. Second, is to gather my family together and study about Him in the scriptures. As we remember the Savior, even through sleepy eyes, His Spirit can be found right in our very own living room. Lastly, I try to live my faith by serving others, outside of my family. I don't do it as often as I would like, but my most choice experiences are those where I visit someone who is sick, or lonely. To me, it feels like the Savior is right there with me. I know he is pleased with me, and I know I made a difference in someone's life.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Yes I do! I know by the power of God's Spirit that we have a prophet today. This was most forcefully impressed upon me on my 19th Birthday. That day I went to a meeting where the Prophet was present in the same room. When he entered the room the Lord witnessed to me, that this was indeed His spokesperson on earth. It was hard for me to control my emotions as the Spirit burnt this into my heart. That was the BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT I could have ever received from my Father in Heaven. I knew that God had a living prophet on the earth! I just wanted to share it with everyone I knew. My knowledge has grown even deeper since then. Whenever the Prophet gives me counsel, I pray to receive my own witness that what he has asked me to do is God's will. Those answers have come from God. This is a further witness to me that Christ is indeed leading this church through a prophet. And why wouldn't he? Like the scripture says in the Bible: "Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." (Amos 3:7) Show more Show less
