Hi I'm Alex Johnson

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Currently living in Arlington, Texas and Graduated from James Bowie High School in 1979. Born in Ogden, Ut. 1960. Served an LDS mission to Perth Australia from 1981-1983. Went to BYU and met my wife Angela Caldwell. We married in the Salt Lake City temple in 1986. We have 4 children Brewer, Levi, Chauncey, and Echo. Having children has really blessed my life and has given more meaning to it. Life still has its challenges, but the gospel of Jesus Christ helps me to keep things in the proper perspective. I know these things for my self. I believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. My God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He has always worked through Prophets like Adam, Moses, Abraham, Isaiah, Noah, and Peter, James, and John. Several years after the death of Jesus Christ, the Prophets were killed and the Priesthood power was lost from the earth, an apostasy began. In 1830, that changed, when God Himself, selected a young Prophet named Joseph Smith. That's the difference. I believe God IS not was. That He SPEAKS to us today, not just spoke to us in the past. He is the same today as He was in the days of Adam.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a teenager, my mom and dad would let me drive the car that week IF I went to church. I now have a better understanding of life. But, as a teenager, I was trying to figure out what is the purpose of life, what is it all about? The Sunday school lessons that I sat through each week started to make more sense to me. Those lessons answered some of those big questions I had about life and my purpose here. I think the turning point for me was I put what I learned in Sunday School to the test! I really wanted to know for myself. I did not care what anyone else thought about religion. I wanted to know what was the purpose of our existence. Why do we go through the different experiences we all have and what purpose do they or should they play in our lives. I have learned for my self that this life has a purpose and we will be accountable for our own lives and what we made of this earth life. I'm truly thankful for Jesus Christ's atonement that has allowed me to repent and to be forgiven of my sins and short comings. It has made all the difference in my life.

How I live my faith

I think that when the Savior said "Be ye therefore perfect", He did not want us to become robots or mimic His every action, but He wanted us to emulate His characteristics of kindness, love, patience, long suffering, gentleness, and meekness. It is hard to do sometimes, but I know that it was not easy for the Savior as well. Proof is in the word TRYING. You will never know what you can do until you TRY. So each day I'm trying to become a person the Savior would say " WELL DONE THOU GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT ENTER INTO MY PRESENCE".
