Hi I'm Tom

About Me

I have been happily married for over 40 years. My wife and I have five children and 14 grandchildren. I spent 20 years in the military, our family lived in on the east coast, west coast and many points in between. We enjoyed all the places we lived. I love the out of doors: biking, camping, hiking, being in the out of doors is a great way to commune with the Almighty. I once met a lady hiking in the Idaho mountains. We struck up a conversation about religion I asked her about her faith, she told me she was a member of "The Church of the Big Blue Dome" (meaning the great outdoors). I told her I go to that church quite often myself. A great place to worship our Father in Heaven in His own creations.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family but as a young adult I had to decide for myself what my core values were and if they were in harmony with what I had been taught by my parents. The doctrine of Jesus Christ has become an integral part of my core values. I look for and desire to share my values with others, they values give me purpose and direction.

How I live my faith

I really feel like you have to exercise it or practice it. A common thread through all religions is they each have values or principles. The expectation is you will live by those values. The closer I live by the values of my faith the happier I find myself in everyday life and the more willing I am to share those values and beliefs.
