Hi I'm Rick

I grew up in Wyoming and Texas. I moved to Utah to attend college and stayed. Its been great!

About Me

While attending college in Utah, I met a wonderful young lady that was from the Salt Lake area. We were married and have had 5 children. I have been in sales and my wife has been a home maker. She is an incredible wife and a fabulous mother. Those children are now married and we have 9 grandchildren. We live in area with beautiful scenery, warm weather and lots of red rock. It has been a dream of mine to travel and see this country and beyond. We have enjoyed this in many ways. It's so interesting to meet other people and to see foreign cultures....some within our own country. We enjoy all that the Lord has placed on the Earth. We are greatful for our family and all the happiness they bring. We love our Savior with all our hearts and enjoy serving him by serving other people and studying what he has to say in the Scriptures.

Why I am a Mormon

Rick's mother joined the Mormon Church when he was 5 years old. She felt sorry for the missionary's that came by our home and wanted to help straighten them out. My mother was raised in a Christain home but they weren't regular attenders of any particular church. She found out when she was in nursing school that her father was Jewish. He had come to the US as a small boy from Russia and he witnessed many horrible and brutal things done to his people. He was convinced that there wasn't a God because he wouldn't allow such bad things to happen to people if He existed. While growing up I felt loved by both parents as did my two sisters. My parents were divorced when I was almost 6 because of my Dad's drinking. He never did join the Mormon Church with Mom. When I was around 12 years of age something hard to explain happened. I some how knew that the Savior was real and so was my Heavenly Father. I also knew beyond any doubt that this Curch was in fact the Gospel of Jesus Christ restored to the Earth in its fullness. I knew and felt this with all my heart....it's very hard to explain how strong my feelings were. Those feelings have gotten stronger and stronger with time. This Church has been an anchor for me and made me so very, very, very happy.

How I live my faith

From the time Rick was a young boy he had been taught that there is a Father in Heaven. "I have considered him to be a "Father" and not someone to be feared but to be loved. That has helped shape how I look at life." Perhaps you have looked at Him that same way and maybe you have looked at God as something different. "I love Him and my Savior with all my heart and have been blessed and carried by Him in so many ways and at different times. Because of the Saviors example and teachings while he was on this earth, I have tried to serve others. Service to my family first. My service has included teaching young people and especially our young men in Boy Scouting. Especially memorable has been serving as an assistant scout master and a scout master for a total of about 15 years. During that time its been fun to see my own sons be involved in scouting and grow with the outdoor experiences we have had as well as acts of service. It's been an incredible blessing to serve people in many ways . I will be forever grateful to my Heavenly Father and the Savior for this opportunity and there guidance."
