Hi I'm Kevin

I'm a Mormon. I'm a good guy.

About Me

I've lived in Texas since I was five. I worked as a camp counselor at a local "outdoor school" that specializes in teaching 5th graders about science, team work, and personal responsibility while giving them the opportunity to enjoy an experience with nature that many kids have never had before. I enjoy playing ultimate frisbee, disc golf, and chess and I love to spend time with my friends and family.  I currently am serving a mission in Alabama. I love the people here and I am enjoying the chances I have everyday to talk of Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church almost my whole life but that doesn't really mean I was active. Choosing to be an active Mormon was a personal decision I made about three years ago, I was missing something in my life that I can't really describe. I was waking up, going to work, going home, going to sleep, and starting again every morning - without much purpose. I wasn't living up to my potential and I can still remember the day that I realized that. I felt the Spirit that day telling me what I needed to change in my life but I was stubborn. I decided that I would give what I felt a chance though and go to church for a Sunday, all it took was a simple embrace from my Bishop to make up my mind. I'm a Latter-Day Saint because I know that true joy comes from living the commandments that God has given us and I want to have joy. I'm a Latter-Day Saint because I know that God loves me and because He loves me He wouldn't leave me to figure things out on my own, blindly. I'm a Latter-Day Saint because every time I consider the teachings of Christ, I feel a testimony, a whisper, that lets me know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is His church.

How I live my faith

As a missionary I dedicate my entire time for two years to serve God's children and to invite others to come unto Christ. The greatest thing about serving a mission is the opportunity I have, everyday, to meet people and learn about their beliefs and just see how many good people are in the world. It gives me great joy when I meet someone and by the end of talking with them I know them a little better and I care for them ton more than I could possibly imagine. It's thrilling to meet someone you care about, learn about their life and their knowledge, and then have the chance to help them strengthen their faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement by sharing with them my personal experiences and the things I've come to learn to be true.

Are Mormons Christians?

Absolutely! Our beliefs are all centered on Jesus Christ and His teachings - the very same teachings that He taught to Peter and His other apostles in the New Testament. We love Jesus Christ and know Him to be the Only Begotten Son of our Heavenly Father, the only one capable of providing a way that we may be saved and return to live with God. He is our Savior and I love Him dearly for that. "And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ because of our faith yet we keep the law because of the commandments... that our children may look forward unto that life which is in Christ..."
