Hi I'm Mike

I'm a psychiatry resident and I'm married with 4 kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy spending time with my family. My wife and I have dates every week that have a certain letter as a theme. My kids and I like to go to the park and chase each other around. I enjoy playing sports when I have the chance. I take the boys to play tennis, but they usually just want to play dodgeball with the tennis balls. My work is busy, but the church has helped me realize that I need to put my family first and good things have come because of that.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that I am a child of God. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that it's only by following Him that I can be happy in this life, return to live with God after this life, and be together with my family forever. I know that Jesus Christ leads this church. I know that Jesus called Joseph Smith to be a prophet to bring the church of Jesus Christ back to the earth. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has the complete teachings of God and the authority of God to perform things like baptisms that are necessary to live with God again. I want to follow Christ, and that is why I am a member of His church: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

My wife and I teach the 12- and 13-year-old class at our church. It's a lot of fun and a great chance to help them find and stay consistent with values that will help them in today's world. Today traditional moral values like chastity are openly mocked. This is a chance to help them know that living what Jesus teaches will help them to be happy, even though the world says something else. The teachings of Jesus through this church and its prophets give people an anchor. This anchor teaches them that they are children of God with great worth and that they have a great purpose in this life.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

YES!! This is the best thing about what the church teaches. I can't imagine being without my wife and boys after this life. I know that many people feel the same about their families. But, when a couple gets married anywhere but in this church, the marriage is "until death do you part." That means when you die, that marriage is over. When a couple gets married in this church, the marriage is for "time and all eternity." That means that it extends past this life. I know that that promise is real and that the power to perform this kind of eternal marriage has been restored to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Show more Show less
