Hi I'm Grant

I'm a husband and a father. I'm an engineer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work as an electrical engineer for a utility company in the state of Colorado. I am married, and we have three small children. We have lots of fun playing together. In my spare time (if I have any) I love to read, especially the classics.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to have parents that taught me to seek for truth in all things. As I have sought out the truth, and by following the teachings of this church, I have come to know the Savior. He has stood by me though my difficulties, so I am able to have faith that I can, with His help, face whatever the future holds. Because He has stood by me, I want to stand with Him.

How I live my faith

Living is what you do everyday. In order to live my faith, I first need to have it. So, I try to make sure that I am doing the simple things that strengthen me, like reading the scriptures and praying, every day. The more I do those things, they transform me. I become kinder. I believe that when Jesus said, "follow me," he was inviting all of us to be like He is and do what he did. I am not there yet, but everyday I take another step in that direction.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

We feel it is very important that everyone has the opportunity to serve in the church, so every member of the congregation is given a responsibility. Every so often, people change to a new responsibility, so that eveyone can have more experience. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Jesus Christ taught, "Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." It is necessary for all people to be baptized in order to to live with God after this life. Unfortunately, not all people who ever lived had the opportunity to be baptized in this life. So God mercifully gave us a way to be baptized for them, so they could have all the same opportunities. Show more Show less

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

A primary purpose for temples is to educate those who enter in the things of God. It is similar to a college education from the Lord. A fine university is selective about who is admitted so that only those who are prepared and are therefore likely to succeed are allowed to enter and receive instruction. In a similar manner, only those who have prepared themselves to receive the education of the temple are allowed to enter it. Show more Show less
