Hi I'm Amanda

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

I'm working currently working for a small accounting firm, which my uncle founded. I work hardest and longest during "tax seasons." The rest of the year is slow, and I don't work as much. During these times, I help watch my sister's children part-time when she goes into her office. I find the time spent with my sister's children to be exhausting (sometimes), but very rewarding. It helps me exercise my nurturing and mothering skills. I haven't yet had the opportunity of marriage or starting a family, but I strongly believe in the institution of marriage and family. I feel I am learning more about being a mother, in preparation for nurturing and blessing the lives of others around me, and believe that I will use these skills for my own family, eventually. I love to create with my hands, using my senses and imagination, to add to the wonder and beauty of the world, both literally and figuratively. I find pottery, arts & crafts, photography, sculpting, metal working, wood working, and other such activities very fullfilling. I love to experience the creations of those that I love and admire too. I am surrounded my many gifted individuals in this world. Presently, I am a student in a local University's Professional MBA programs. My undergrad degree in in Accounting. School is a challenge, but also a blessing. In my free time, I like letterboxing with my friends, attending plays at our local theatre, eating icecream, and playing "Wheel of Fortune" on Nintendo Wii.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate to be born into a good home, where I was taught to pray to my Heavenly Father, and that He will answer my prayers. My parents are Mormons, but this is not why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I followed Moroni's challenge, given in the Book of Mormon, and Heavenly Father revealed the truthfullness of the book to my heart, in such a peacful and undeniable manner. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God, another testament of Jesus Christ, and that it will teach us the things we need to know, and do, to gain Eternal Life.

How I live my faith

I communicate to my Heavenly Father regularly in prayer. I study the scriptures. I look for opportunities to serve others and help lift their burdens. I make and keep sacred covenants and strive to be obedient and keep the commandments, including repentence. I help teach young girls ages 8 through 11 about the gospel of Jesus Christ, developing their talents, serving others, and the continual pursuit of knowledge. We have lot's of fun activities. The girls favorite thing to do is cook. I help teach children 3-11 music. The music aids in learning about our Heavenly Father's plan, the life and mission of Jesus Christ, the scriptures, and important Gospel principles.
