Hi I'm Carrie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Southern Oregon with my parents, two sisters and brother. At 17, I moved to Provo, Utah, to attend Brigham Young University, where I majored in Political Science. While serving an internship for Oregon Senator, Gordon Smith, in Washington DC, I met my husband, Matt. After we both graduated in Political Science, we married in the Mt. Timpanogos Latter-day Saint Temple in American Fork, Utah. We have four children, ages 4-12, and life is never boring at our house. We currently live in North Carolina, and we love it! I feel lucky to be a stay-at-home mom. It's the hardest and most rewarding job I've ever had! In my free time I like to read with my kids, bake, run, and take quick naps. I'm a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

Many generations before me, my ancestors learned of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were some of the first baptized members. They made many great sacrifices for our faith. I am a Mormon because I have gained my own testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, the same gospel that the Savior taught when he was on the earth. I'm grateful for the Savior and His example. Since I make lots of mistakes, the Atonement brings me peace as I ask for forgiveness and try to be like Jesus. Now I can to share this gospel with my own children.

How I live my faith

I'm a leader of Young Women, ages 12-18. I love serving with these awesome young ladies! We learn together that we are Daughters of a Heavenly Father, who loves us. We practice the values of Faith, Divine Nature, Individual Worth, Knowledge, Choice and Accountability, Integrity and Virtue. My favorite part of serving these Young Women is listening to them testify of Jesus Christ at Girls Camp, Youth Conference, in Church and even sometimes on Facebook. They are my heroes!

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith was the first prophet in our Latter days. As a 14-year-old boy, he prayed to know the truth. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him in person. He restored the true gospel of Jesus Christ, including translating The Book of Mormon. I'm so grateful to have this wonderful book along with the Bible to help me know the Lord's will for me and my family. Show more Show less

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

We must have the courage to stand up for what is right! Pornography isn't just limited to filthy magazines and adult movies. It's becoming more and more common in the media and advertising. Pornography is harmful to our society and we must speak out against it. We can do this by sending letters and emails to it's producers and talking to our friends about how we can protect our families. Show more Show less
