Hi I'm Stephanie

About Me

I am a desert loving, music playing, forever student from Phoenix. I currently live in Phoenix and am finishing up my doctorate in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health and Developmental Disorders. I work at the Phoenix Temple as a clerk and am so grateful for the everyday spirit I get to feel there. I love to run out in the desert sun and hang out with my nieces and nephew. I enjoy music and play the piano, flute, guitar and of course, the ukulele! People make me happy and you'll often find me in a crowd, trying to make someone smile.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know it's true. I know my Father in Heaven is cheering me on and waiting for me to grow and learn and come back to Him. I know that there is a plan and a purpose to live and it makes me see things differently. I see the world as being full of God's children all working towards being their best selves and try to encourage potential in those I come in contact with. I am a Mormon because it's right and I love it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith weekly, hourly, daily, minute to minute and second to very second. I live and breath the Gospel for it is the very fabric of who I am. Without the Gospel, I'm not sure anything would make any sense to me! I try to serve. I try to reach out to those who need me. It feels powerful to help someone smile and I do all I can to affect people for the positive. I serve in the Relief Society, the church's organization for women. I find such joy in the way the church respects, takes care of and considers women and their specific needs. I feel revered, loved and cared for as a women in this church and love the opportunity to help lead and serve in this organization. I support families with disabilities within the church. I help train, provide respite and friendship, and remind them of the good things even when hard things can be so hard. I like to teach Primary and Nursery leaders how to better handle difficult children and to find ways in the church to better support unique needs, both with kids and adults. I think it's important to remember the one, just like Christ did.

What is the difference between attending a Mormon Church and a Mormon Temple?

Church is a place we go to worship, learn and cleanse ourselves each week. It's a place where we can think about things we can do better the following week and make commitments to do them, where we can repent and forgive both ourselves and others, where we can learn about the Gospel, the scriptures, and our faith, and where we can serve each other in ways that help individuals grow. The temple is a very sacred place. It is reserved for those who have recieved a recommend by living their life in accordance with Gospel principles and requirements. Inside there are sacred ordinances performed that help further our understanding of our Heavenly Father's plan for us and bind us together with our families for all eternity. Show more Show less
