Hi I'm Lindsey

I grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska. I have a love for travel, art, and the Spanish language. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a senior in college studying Latin American Studies with a minor in Visual Arts. I have been able to travel to Spain and South America on various occasions, and plan to return once finishing my undergraduate degree. When I am not studying or traveling, I enjoy spending time with my family in the various locations that they have chosen to live throughout the United States. I enjoy spending time with my friends as well, volunteering in the community where I live, playing the guitar, piano, drawing, painting, and going to my Zumba classes twice a week! I am always looking to learn new things, and am excited to graduate college and move on to the next adventure in my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized to become a member of the Church when I was nine years old, but it wasn't until I was a Freshman in high school that I really started to be interested in the Church. During that time, my family was having many problems, and I started to search for something more. I then found out that all of the questions that I had, such as "Who am I?" "What is the purpose of this life?" and "What happens after this life?" were answered in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was then that I told my mom that we were going to return to church, and I have been going to church ever since, and in 2011 was able to serve as a full-time missionary in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, preaching the gospel that I love so much to the wonderful people in that country. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the biggest blessing in my life. It is through the gospel that I have found the peace that I long for. There are trials in this life, it is true, but I know that this life is temporary and that I am a beloved daughter of the most wonderful God. I know that my Heavenly Father has a plan for me and that as I am obedient to Him that I will one day be able to return home to His presence. In a changing world, the gospel of Jesus Christ is constant, and that gives me peace. I know that I have no reason to fear as I face the future because of the promises that I have made with God. I know that He loves me and wants me to succeed, and not only me, but all of His children.

How I live my faith

My faith is the most important thing that I have. Right now I am serving as a counselor to the president of the leader of the women's group in my congregation. I love it! It is so fun to be able to get to know all of the women that I go to church with and be able to help the president in assessing the needs that they have and helping make sure that those needs are being met, both spiritually and temporally. Besides serving in this capacity, my faith is part of every aspect of my life. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints means that everything I do is based on the promise that I made with my Heavenly Father to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.
