Hi I'm Jon

I'm a BYU student, a Computer Science major, a gamer, an Audio/Video enthusiast, a gadget geek, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a student at Brigham Young University majoring in Computer Science. I've been a gamer since I was three. I've been a juggler since I was 12. I've been a programmer since I was 13. I've been a singer since I was 16. I've been a Microsoft Certified Professional and a licensed HAM Radio operator since I was 18. I am very active in social media. I currently have a two blogs, a Twitter account, a Facebook profile, and a Google+ profile. I love building computers and home theaters.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both members of the Church when I was born, but they slipped away, and subsequently I was not raised with the Gospel. I had many great friends that were members of other Christian denominations and, while I loved their demeanor, I couldn't understand their beliefs. After so much confusion, I settled on the only thing that made sense to me: atheism. I lived with this belief for much of my young life. When I was 16, my parents decided to return to activity in the Church. Sister Missionaries began visiting my sisters and me at the request of my parents. When they taught me about Joseph Smith, I knew that he was a true Prophet. The Spirit helped me understand in my mind and my heart what that message meant. When I read the Book of Mormon, it was confirmed to me, by the same Spirit, that it was true as well. I was baptized and I've been grateful for that decision ever since.

How I live my faith

I love to read the Book of Mormon daily, and I read our other works of scriptures regularly. I also pray to begin and end each day. These activities have helped me maintain a greater focus on what's important and to improve my relationship with my Savior. In addition, I try to find ways to serve and help others as often as I can. My talents with computers have helped me to further the work of the Lord in many ways, in both the callings I've had and the employment I've had while going to school here in Provo.
