Hi I'm Mark

I grew up in Canada. I love camping, hiking, and fishing with my family. I like to build log homes.I'm a Dentist.I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to be outdoors and enjoy working with my hands. I worked my way through college, by building log homes and general construction. I find great joy in building furniture and fixing our home and improving things in general. Spending time with my family is one of my greatest joy's. Campouts, fishing, climbing mountains, picking berries, swimming, rock hounding(finding great rocks) and any adventerous things peek my interest. I've always had an interest in geology ever since I was small and can often be found looking close at the rocks that are at my feet. I enjoy my job as a Dentist, but I'm never sad to go home at the end of the day. My kids always ask me how my day was when I get home and my answer is always the same "It's geeting better". Sometimes I look at the mountains and I just want to drop everything and go there, sometimes I do. I like raising cattle, riding horses, canoeing rivers and exploring caves. Life is exciting and I love the adventure.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a man of science and prescribe much to the methods of science as I have gone through school. I love learning about the world around me. I have always been interested in the why's and how's of life. At the end of my graduation fromt Dental School my class mates gave me an award for being the one to most ask a questions that may not aplly. I approach life with questions. That is how I feel about being a member of this church. Having questions has brought me to the answers, thats how it works. I asked then I received. Knowing that God has his church on the earth, that follows the pattern given throughout the scriptures of prophets and revelation, is a comfort to me in times of stress or sadness. Receiving answers does not start untill we come with questions. I can tell you without a doubt that God answers prayers, he has answered mine, and because of that I can say I know this is his true church on the earth today. This is why I am a Mormon, because God hears and answers my prayerfull honest questions. It's great!

How I live my faith

I am by nature a solitary person, this may not seem apparent as you observe me in relation to the church. I have served in the church for many years starting by paying my own way as a missionary for two full years when I was 19 yrs of age. Since that time I have continued to be involved in various other areas. For many years I was involved with the young men's organization helping to organize and lead the youth in Boy Scouts and other church activities. Now I serve as a Bishop over a congregation. It is very busy and time consuming to be a father of four, a husband and also attend to the needs of a very busy organization. None of this service in the church has gone un-noticed by those around me because it is something that I willingly speak about and it is an integral part of my life. It is note worthy to know that there is no monitary compensation for any of this service. So many would ask me why I would want ot be so actively using up my limited time for such an organization. There are two reasons for this 1) This is Jesus Christ's church on the earth and 2) That is what the Savior would do if he were here, and it is what he expects his followers to do; serve willingly. Service is what Jesus Christs church is centered on and often I will be found with the youth group serving someone in the ward or visiting someone in need. This is the essence of following Christ, this is what I want to do , this is what I want to be. Like Christ.
