Hi I'm Steve

I'm an airline pilot, a grandfather and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I started flying as an airline pilot following a 20 year career in the United States Air Force. I love to fly! It has been a large part of my life. I am married to a wonderful lady. We've been married over 38 years. We have three children and now 9 grand children! My family and their activities have been the number one hobby in my life. But, there is usually time to play golf with my friends, to work in my yard and for reading a good book. My wife and I enjoy spending time with our children and grand children. And sometimes between those visits and our work schedules - we love going on a cruise! Those are cherished getaways!

Why I am a Mormon

After spending a great deal of time during my teen years wondering what to do with my life I began to study and pray about how I should apply religion in my life. From that process I received a spiritual witness of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as restored by the Prophet Joseph Smith. Through personal inspiration, and by observing the lives of others, I have come to know that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is real! I have experienced the change that comes from allowing the Atonement to have effect in my life. I have witnessed the same thing in other people's lives. It is truly a supernal gift! I know that through His sacrifice for me, that I can overcome all trials, pain and suffering and that I can return to live with my Heavenly Father. It isn't necessarily easy! But, I know that by applying Gospel principles in all that we do that we can have great joy! This knowledge brings me comfort in life's situations and happiness in my personal and work endeavors. It is great to be a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I serve in a leadership capacity at church. My responsibilities include organizing events for the teenage youth of the church. Those events include firesides, summer camps and weekly religious instruction. I also have responsibility to serve young single members of the church. We help organize wholesome social activities along with meaningful service projects. I love having the opportunity to work with young people of all ages. They are wonderful to be around. And I know that one day they will be terrific leaders in our church and communities and will be faithful parents and spouses! I am also called upon to teach the Gospel from time to time. This is a privilege that I take very seriously. It provides a way for me to share what I have learned through scripture study and experience. It also provides an opportunity to testify of Christ! I cherish those times.
