Hi I'm Colby

I am a happily married father of 6 children, a Singer/Songwriter, a Sign Language Interpreter, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to the love of my life for over 14 years and have 6 amazing children. I am a Singer/Songwriter, and a professional Sign Language Interpreter. My wife, Lynette, and I met at a Church singles activity and we were married just 7 months later! We now have 6 beautiful children, and I enjoy seeing them smile and giggle. Our oldest is 12 and our youngest is almost 3. I began interpreting while serving as a full-time missionary back in 1993 in Chicago and in Arizona. My mission experience shaped my life in a way that allowed me to not only grow spiritually, but to help others do the same. I find some of the greatest satisfaction when I am in the zone playing and composing music. Most of my music came as a result of some deep emotional experience that moved me in a way that I could only express through music. Many from love found, some from love lost, most express a recognition that my Father in Heaven's hand has been there for all of it.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised as a Mormon, I have had plenty of experiences that have tried my faith. I have found through the years that as I follow the teachings of my Savior, Jesus Christ, I am happier, and I am better prepared to handle challenges that may arise. I feel closer to God and his Son, Jesus Christ as I follow Him in this journey called life.

How I live my faith

My wife and family are my biggest priority. Loving them and serving them is the best way for me to ensure a better world for them in the future. Any other success in life pales in comparison to the happiness I create in my home. That happiness, through my children, will extend beyond the walls of the loving home I create and bring more happiness into an increasingly dreary world. I live my faith by spreading happiness. That happiness, that joy, only comes from following Jesus Christ.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Colby
My Faith in Jesus Christ helps me in my relationships by helping me to be more forgiving. I believe that forgiveness is one of the best forms of service we can give. There is so much vengeance in the world, and through the Teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ, we can all learn to forgive and love one another. Show more Show less

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Colby
The growth of the Church, I believe, is best attributed to the fact that in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is found the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For those who are earnestly seeking truth, they can feel it when they learn about the Church and naturally want to be a part of it. I think that people are desperately searching for a Church of integrity and high moral standards, and they find that not only in the Teachings of the Church, but in the people as well.
