Hi I'm Stephen

About Me

I am Married with 4 grown children, 2 granddaughters and 5 grandsons....... I spend a most of my spare time "Hamming" or "Weather Watching" . I am a Amateur Radio Operator (Ham). As an Emergency Communication Specialist for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I am involved in emergency preparedness and emergency communications. We are Red Cross volunteers with the Central Panhandle Chapter. We both are avid college football fans so when fall rolls around we can be found in front of the TV or in the stadium. She is a Florida Gator and I am an Auburn Tiger which makes football season very interesting at our house.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a religious home. We attended church regularly and my mother taught Sunday School and was well versed in the Bible. I have always had a close relationship my Heavenly Father & Jesus Christ but I always felt something was missing. I had gone through a divorce and moved back to live my elderly father. I became friends with a group "Hams" and starting dating one of them. She was a Mormon and suggested I should talk to the Missionaries if I wanted the relation to get serious. I did so I did. I had worked with several Mormon men in the past and knew they were different. But I never knew why until I met with the Missionaries. The Missionaries said I was a Mormon in my heart and I realized they were correct. I was Baptized 1989. We were married 1990. I have strong Testimony that this Gospel is true and that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ do love and guide us everyday. I am thankful for a living Prophet who leads us on the earth today. I know the Book of Mormon is true.

How I live my faith

For the past 15 years I have had the pleasure to work with the youth of our Church. This has been very rewarding because I was able to see and be a part of the spiritual grow of our youth. Currently my responsibilities allow me to work with missionary program of the Church. I enjoy teaching others how important it is live the Gospel in our lives so that non-members will want to learn more about our Church.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Stephen
In a world of turmoil and uncertainty, it is more important than ever to make our families the center of our lives and the top of our priorities. Families lie at the center of our Heavenly Father’s plan. We need to make our homes a place of refuge from the storm, which is increasing in intensity all about us. Even if the smallest openings are left unattended, negative influences can penetrate the very walls of our homes. Show more Show less
