Hi I'm Jon

I'm an actor, an educator, a father, a husband, a Webelos Den Leader, and a Mormon

About Me

I love stories. I think a well told story has the ability to change lives: a story can uplift, entertain, educate, enlighten and encourage. Acting and teaching has provided me the opportunity to tell stories to and associate with God's children from all over the world. I've lived in New York City, Scotland, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Virginia, California, and Tennessee. What I've learned from acting and teaching, is that God loves all of his children, and each of us has a powerful story to tell.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the peace it brings to my life. It's easy for me to get caught up in the stresses of each day: auditioning, creating, making a living, balancing work and family, and worrying about what the future will bring. I find that as I live up to the commitments I've made and remember to rely on my Savior, a peace enters my life that helps me be a better father, husband, actor, and teacher.

How I live my faith

I try to love fully. I find that my life is more rich as I honestly serve and love others. I'm happiest and feel that I'm following in Christ's footsteps the most when I take the time to listen to and help my neighbors.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

My knowledge that Mormonism is true has grown as I've kept the commitments I've made, read the scriptures, and sought a greater relationship with God through prayer. I know that anyone with a sincere desire to know, and a commitment to find out the truth, can know that Mormonism is true. The witness of truth is different for everyone, but it came to me after prayer and study of the scriptures and as a tangible feeling of being loved, of peace and rightness. My knowledge is affirmed each time I pray, read the scriptures, and attend church on Sunday. Show more Show less
