Hi I'm Diana Lynn

About Me

I'm a mom to 5 great kids ages 23-10. I married my college sweetheart in 1985. We are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary this August.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a wonderful family that are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was baptized at the age of eight years old. I always loved the way I felt when I attended church. Sometimes my parents were unable to attend church due to work or other things, but I wanted to go and feel the spirit there. As I got older I was able to get myself there on a more regular basis. I was taught well and knew the difference between right and wrong. I recognized that I felt better inside when I did what was right. As I have matured I've gained a better insight into the importance of making right choices. I believe we are a product of the choices we make in our lives.

How I live my faith

I live by my faith everyday in the choices I make and by the way I treat people. I strive to do the things Heavenly Father wants me to by asking him in prayer to direct my day. I teach the high school seniors in our area before they go to school each morning. Early morning Seminary has blessed my life so much! I am learning so many beautiful principles in the Book of Mormon. I am truly inspired by the terrific youth I teach! They are awesome! They work so hard to stay strong and close to the Lord in such a vile world. I believe the world is beautiful place and created by our Savior. But the influences of evil are so rampant that we must try really hard to stay close to God.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Diana Lynn
All unchastity or unvirtuous behavior begins with immodesty in one form or another. The media is such an influence in the world and very rarely is modesty and virtue portrayed as normal and preferred.  I believe that the self respect of a person is also related to their cleanliness in thought dress and language. To keep the spirit and influence of the Lord in our lives we must strive to follow his teachings and examples. Encourage your youth to wear clothing and use media in a way that invites the spirit to be with them. They will know by paying attention to the way they feel. If they have a positive and happy feeling it is good. If the way they speak and behave encourage others to do and be their best then it is a positive thing they are doing. Parents need to be an example making good, virtuous choices. Kids see through hypocrisy and do not respond well to it. We can improve the choices we make and in turn it can encourage our children to improve their choices. Good friends area must! Show more Show less

What is the Relief Society?

Diana Lynn
The wonderful woman's organization established as a humanitarian organization. It goes so much deeper than that. I love that we check on each other once a month (at least) through the Visiting Teaching program. We learn how to be our best selves, wives, mothers and daughters of God. Show more Show less
