Hi I'm Karen Lynn

About Me

I am 31 years old and I have 6 kids (8 years old and younger). Life is really busy with my husband in school working on his PhD. I stay home with the kids and we have a lot of fun, but it can be a challenge. We like to go the park and library and do just about anything outside. We enjoy working around the house together and surprising other family members with a secret service, like making a sibling's bed. We also love music and doing any kind of art stuff. I love reading and playing the piano and I also enjoy working out too.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that was Mormon so I grew up learning about it. When I was 12, I took the challenge that was given in the Book of Mormon (Moroni 10: 3-5) that says to pray about what you read to know if it is true. I wanted to know for myself. My prayer was answered and I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that our family can be together forever. I know that my Heavenly Father is aware of me and that He hears and answers my prayers.

How I live my faith

I just try to live the best that I know how. I pray everyday. I pray all the time over anything big or small. I try to be kind and thoughtful. I read the scriptures by myself, with my husband, and then we read them with our kids each day too. We talk about Jesus and the different stories in the scriptures too. We have a night each week where we get together as a family and we sing songs, read the scriptures, have a little gospel lesson, play games or read books, and then have a dessert. We love to sing in our house and so we are often singing the songs we learn at church and it brings a really great spirit into our home. I also try to find opportunities to help others. I am happiest when I am helping someone else.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Karen Lynn
I have a strong desire to know my Heavenly Father. I first prayed to know that He was there. I wanted to know that He heard my prayers and that He was aware of me. Once I did that and after I received my confirmation of those things, I started really focusing on doing what I know is right. By choosing the right I have the spirit in my life and I am guided and helped along the way. I find that as I serve others that I love them more as well. I believe that doing service for others helps me to feel of His love both for me and others and I am uplifted and I feel closer to Him. Praying to Him really helps me to know Him too. It is taking time to listen and feel when I am praying that I can feel our bond grow. Show more Show less
