Hi I'm Marge

Hi. I am a South Dakota girl. I am Mormon and I love it.

About Me

I am the grandmother of 17 soon to be 18 grandchildren. 14 of the grandchildren are boys. My family is very important to me. I love them very much.I love to sew, take walks, swim and do family history. I earned my Associates Degree while working a full time job. When, my oldest daughter Amy was 2 years old, the most wonderful thing happened to me. I was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I will be forever grateful for the missionaries who came to my door 30+ years ago and brought me the most wonderful gift I could ever receive. Little did I know then, that the gospel would be an anchor in my life when going through a difficult time. My family was also blessed because of a daughter who faithfully served a mission. My faith and testimony are greater today because of being obedient to the commandments to the best of my ability. That is all He asks of us, is to do our best. I had a difficult road to go down for at least two years. I do not know to this day, how I would have gotten through it without the gospel of Jesus Christ, without His love and grace. He has sustained me and I have have felt His loving arms around me when the going got tough.

Why I am a Mormon

My conversion to the gospel started the day I was baptized. I had enough testimony and I knew the church was true. I received a witness through the Holy Ghost that the church was true. Years later, two weeks before my daughter came home from her mission she wrote me an email and asked that I would share my conversion story. My story started with the missionaries coming to my home and teaching me about the gospel. This led to baptism. Baptism was only the beginning of it. I served in the church in so many capacities. I became "emmersed" in the gospel and its teachings. I realized at the time I was sharing my story with my daughter that my full conversion did not happen overnight. It was through years of tests and trials that I finally knew without a doubt that the church was true. That Jesus is the Christ and that He hears and answers prayers. I have learned through experience that obedience to the commandments, doing your best, brings so much happiness, joy and an incredible amount of peace in our lives. I personally have received so much strength and power from the Lord over the last 5 years.

How I live my faith

I am a member of the greatest women's organization in my church, which is the Relief Society. I have the opportunity occasionally to teach the sisters in my ward and to serve in other ways. The purpose of Relief Society is to help those sisters who are in need in whatever capacity it may be. Sometimes a sister just needs someone to talk to. In the past, I had the opportunity to teach the youth in Seminary, which is an early morning scripture class held during the week before school. I live by example.
