Hi I'm Jason

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

About Me

I am a husband to a beautiful woman and father of one great little boy. I also have two dogs that think they are human, a cocker spaniel and a cock-a-poo. We are a busy little family. There is always something that needs to be done or an appointment to get to. Along with all that, I am presently working on my MBA with a emphasis on Healthcare Management. I was raised in the Church and have grown in faith and conviction through the love and guidance of my grandparents, parents, and my wonderful wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church so I feel I was really blessed. Heavenly Father has blessed my family greatly over the years and I am extremely blessed that some wonderful missionaries introduced the gospel to my great-grandparents in the early 1900's. I know that if I had not been brought up in the church my life could have been much different. So why am I a Mormon? I have studied scriptures and read teachings of other religions and none have given me the feeling of truth more than the Mormon faith. The teachings of the church has taught me how to live my life, how to be a better parent, and have a better relationship with my wife.

How I live my faith

I exercise my faith through study of scriptures and by teaching in the home the principles of the gospel. I also serve in the church as a Director of the Family History Center in my local ward building. This wonderful opportunity of church service has allowed me the opportunity to get to know more members of the church and allows me to assist them in finding their ancestors. It has also allowed me to meet others in the community and introduce and help them access the vast ancestral resources available through the church. I try to live as true to gospel principles and teachings at every turn. Like everyone else I make mistakes, make wrong choice, but look to always better myself so that I learn from those mistakes.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Jason
No. Although there is a lot of assistance members provide other members, there are countless examples of members helping in communities all over the world. I remember examples from Hurricane Katrina and other events in the southeastern United States that I have participated in one way or another. As members we are encouraged to help one another, members and non-members alike. Show more Show less

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Jason
The temple is the Lord's house. Even in the time of Jesus, there were temples that were for the same purpose. Today, these temples allow members of the church to do baptisms and other ordinances for their deceased relatives. The temple is also a place of peace and tranquility to pray to and learn of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
