Hi I'm Marily

About Me

I am outnumbered. Mom of three busy boys and wife to a busy husband. I love hearing my kids laugh those big belly laughs, getting out of the house, trying new recipes and eating Mexican food. Give me some authentic tortilla chips and I could eat a gallon of homeade salsa all by myself.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with parents that are members of the Church. But a wonderful thing about Mormonism is that all are encouraged to develop their own testimonies and come to the knowledge for themselves if the church is true. I have felt the Spirit burn in my heart and tell me that this is Christ's church on the Earth. I am grateful to have this knowledge for myself. It gives me a sense of peace to know that there is a purpose to this life. Knowing there is a loving God also gives me perspective to know that in spite of what may happen to us in this life God has a plan for us to be happy and live with Him forever.

How I live my faith

Going to church each week is a given. It's who I am and keeps my priorities straight. At church I teach a 30-minute lesson to the women once a month. I love the women's organization of the Church--I can feel the power when righteous women gather together for a good cause. My family and I read out of the scriptures every night. It's only a few verses because the boys are still small but I know we are instilling values in them about God. Prayer is important to me and I know that Heavenly Father answers prayers because I have seen prayer work in my own life!

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Retired individuals or couples that serve missions provide the funds for their own missions. Whenever possible, a young man or woman serving a mission comes up with the funds through their own savings, support from family members or friends, or a combination of both. When there is a need, individuals from the missionary's hometown might contribute money. Show more Show less
