Hi I'm Eric

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm in my mid 30's happily married to my beautiful and amazing wife. We have two girls and a baby boy. I love sports, hiking, camping, and canyoneering. But mostly, I love spending time with my family. They are the greatest source of joy in my life. I honestly can't think of anything better then listening to my children laugh.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I read this wonderful book for the first time as a freshman in college. As I read each page the Holy Ghost bore record it was true. I felt a closeness to Christ like never before. The messages were enlightening and uplifting. The words motivated me to do good. I gained a witness of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. From there my conversion was simple. If the Book of Mormon was indeed true then Joseph Smith had to be a prophet of God. If Joseph Smith was a prophet then the church he restored to the earth had to be the only true and living church on the face of the earth. That church of course is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of which I belong. It’s really that simple. I'm a Mormon because the Book of Mormon is true. Of course, my testimony has grown since my freshman year. I've experienced events in my life that leave no doubt to the existence of a loving Father in Heaven. I know without reservation or doubt that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. His atonement is real. Only through Christ can man be saved. There is no other way. I love Him and owe Him all that I am. Without Christ I am nothing. He is my Redeemer, my Savior, my Brother, and my Friend. Because of His sacrifice my family and I will live again together forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through service. By serving, I lose myself in the needs of others. I know that charity never fails. If motivated by charity nothing is impossible. Christ is the perfect example. All that He did was because He loves us. I try, though I fail, to emulate the Savior both in word and in deed.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Christ answered this exact question. John 7:17 "If any man will do his bwill, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." We increase our faith in Christ by following His example. The more obedient we are to His teachings the more our faith in Christ increases. Faith in Christ is a blessing of obedience.
