Hi I'm Norman

I'm a Husband, a Father, a worker bee, a history buff, a reader, a servant of the Lord, a model train addict, & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

First & foremost - Hubby & Father, then Model Railroad addict & Train fanatic (some say that's reversed). I enjoy spending time with my lovely bride of almost 25 years, my three grown kids (whenever we can visit), and my folks (who are enjoying their golden years). I also enjoy reading Louis L'Amour Westerns, American History non-fiction, the scriptures, and watching crime dramas like NCIS & Law & Order: SVU.

Why I am a Mormon

It is more complex than "Families Can Be Together Forever" but that is the jist of why I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that Heavenly Father loves us and wants us all to be happy and home with him. That Christ is our Savior and came here to help us achieve the goal of returning home and being with Heavenly Father, our family and our friends. I know that life doesn't end when we leave this Earth - that our thoughts, and our dreams, and our knowledge continues. I know that we can be forgiven for wrongs we have committed and that we can help others enjoy life here and beyond. I know that Jesus Christ is a real person, with real power and is our Savior, Advocate, older brother, and friend.

How I live my faith

I am an active member of our Ward, along with my family. We love going to church on Sunday and learning about how to be a better person, hearing of Christ's example, and fellowshiping with friends. I am a Ward Missionary and love sharing the Gospel of Christ with anyone & everyone!

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

This is actually pretty easy - we just live our lives the best we can, in an every day fashion. We follow the Commandments of Heavenly Father and we don't live the way of the World, just in the World. We don't worry about the most expensive and up-to-date fashions, we get involved in our communities to help others. We avoid anything that takes the Spirit away from us - for example, drugs, alcohol, and all forms of tobacco. We don't watch violent or sex-laced movies or TV shows, or listen to sugggestive music. We also realize we make mistakes, do our best to correct them and move on.   Show more Show less
