Hi I'm GL

I grew up in Utah and have lived in the Midwestern United States for almost 30 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the father of seven children and ten grandchildren. My wife and I have been married for almost 40 years and we love our children and grandchildren dearly. Having a somewhat large family hasn't always been easy but we wouldn't trade the experiences we have had raising our children and now seeing them raise their own children for anything. For almost 30 years I have worked in the transportation industry designing vehicles that people drive and use for a variety of reasons. Currently, I work at a company that manufactures medium duty, heavy duty, and severe service trucks, buses, RVs, and defense vehicles. I really enjoy what I do and have truly been blessed with the opportunity to do new and exciting things and get to know and associate with many wonderful and talented people.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born into my faith and had great parents who taught me correct principles and set a wonderful example for me to follow, I still had to come to a personal knowledge of the truth. As I grew up, I encountered many experiences that helped to build my faith and reliance upon our Heavenly Father. As I studied and prayed about the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, read my scriptures and listened to the words of the leaders of the Church, I came to know by the power of the Holy Ghost that God lives, that Jesus Christ is our Savior, that Joseph Smith is indeed a prophet of God and that we are led by living prophets today. I have gained a very strong testimony of the importance of the scriptures in our lives. I love the Bible and value the wonerful teachings of Jesus Christ, and the writings of ancient apostles and prophets. I have come to know that the Book of Mormon is also a witness of the divine mission of Jesus Christ and is verily true. This knowledge has come to me by study and prayer and an answer to my prayers by the power of the Holy Ghost. Because of my own personal spiritual experiences with God's truth and my knowledge that there are living prophets and apostles on the earth today, I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to make a difference in someone's life each and everyday through service. By looking at life as an opportunity to bless the lives of others and striving to live the teachings of Jesus Christ through service, there have always been daily opporutnities to help someone in even small and simple ways that make a difference. I live my faith by serving in the Church. Currently, I have the priviledge to serve as a Sunday School teacher where I teach other adults about the gospel of Jesus Christ and how to apply it in their lives. This is truly a rewarding experience, and as it turns out, I probably learn the most because of my preparations to teach. Throughout my life I have had many opportunities to serve in my church teaching children, youth, adults and by serving in various leadership roles as well. These callings to serve have always blessed my life because I have grown to lover others more unconditionally and realize that true happiness comes by helping others.
