Hi I'm Jennifer

Born in California, I live in Missouri. I'm married with kids. I am an author, book reviewer, cookbook creator, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the LDS Church in the Bay Area, in California. I married young and started a family young and now live in Missouri. I graduated from college with a degree in Anthropology and Archaeology. I emphasized in Mesoamerican and Mesopotamean Archaeology. I did my field study in Petra, Jordan. I am now a book reviewer for clean romance novels. I am also an author of my own novel. In addition I enjoy cooking, especially creating my own gourmet jam recipes. I enjoy reading, doing genealogy research, playing with my kids and going to see movies.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Because I want to be. Because I believe that this is the only true church. Because I know in my heart and soul that Jesus is our Savior, that Joseph Smith was his prophet, that the Book of Mormon is true, and that the only true way to be happy in this life and in the life to come is to follow God's commandments and to live my life as He would have me do.

How I live my faith

I believe that the best way to live my faith is to emulate Jesus, our Savior. I try to live my life as He did. For all those that I meet I try to offer my friendship, my understanding, my compassion and my love. I know that each of us is a special child of God and that He would want us to take care of each other.

What is the Law of Chastity?

The law of chastity is to abstain from all acts of a sexual nature before marriage. This includes conduct with members of the opposite sex, the way you dress and present yourself as well as the way you act. After marriage, the law of chastity doesn't change much except that acts of a sexual nature are confined to your spouse. It still includes how you dress, act and present yourself to the world. It's not meant to be limiting but rather to help you to present yourself as a person with respect for yourself and others. Respect for yourself, for your body, for your marriage vows, for your children, and for your Heavenly Father. Show more Show less

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Husbands and wives are meant to work together in the family, taking on different roles to accomplish all that needs to be done for a family. Husbands are meant to provide for their families, both temporally and spiritually. They are meant to protect their families. And they are meant to preside over their families, not meaning that they dominate, but have a responsibility to lead. Wives are meant to nurture their families, especially their children. Of course, these responsibilities overlap and sometimes are traded in time of need. Sometimes a wife goes to work, sometimes a husband comforts a child in the night, sometimes life happens. But, when each spouse has their responsibility, then they can work together to accomplish them in the best fashion for their families. Show more Show less
