Hi I'm Kevin

I grew up in Utah and share music around the world. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Kevin. I have the privilege of being the father of four wonder children and married to a wonderful woman for time and all eternity in one of the Lord's temples on earth. Prior to family life, I spent time in school, playing athletics to include: college baseball and singing with my friend in the group Afterglow. A two year mission to the Missouri St. Louis Mission and the Nauvoo Restoration Mission, provided a solid foundation for the principles believed in and practiced. Music has carried forward until this day and has provided many life changing experiences for me and my family. I spend my professional hours working in the insurance and real estate industry. Prior to the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, I was a representative of both the bid and organizing committees. This 12 year journey allowed me to spend time with IOC members and their families, corporate sponsors and other distinquished guests. I will forever cherish the association with the people of the world. I continue this hosting effort by greeting many who come to Salt Lake City and visit the Energy Solutions Arena.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born of goodly parents who instilled in me a love of family and a belief that God is real and loves His children. They taught me about the Savior and His sacrifice for all mankind and the role of the Holy Ghost who testifies of the Father and the Son. The belief and understanding that a prophet and apostles walk the earth, provided me with assurance that God is mindful of my existence. Growing up with this understanding was met with some casualness in my teenage years. I reflect however, of a time when a seminary teacher challenged me to read the Book of Mormon, (a Second Witness of Jesus Christ and the companion volume to the Bible), from cover to cover. I took the challenge and felt the sweet peace that comes from putting Bible's passage in James 1:5 and the passage in the Book of Mormon Moroni 10: 3-5 to the test. I was converted to that which I already knew buried within. In my life, I have been able to meet people and study many religions of the world. I have a deep respect for the belief's of all, but cannot find any other religion on earth that provides such a comprehensive view of pre-mortal, mortal and post-mortal life. I can trace the authority to baptize, the authority to seal on earth and bind in heaven, and listen directly to the words of a living prophet who leads and guides in the latter-day prior to the Second Coming of the Savior. I believe in the First Vision and the testimony of the Prophet of the Restoration, Joseph Smith who declared that the Father and Son spoke to him in a grove of trees in the spring of 1820. This and succeeding events have opened heaven's communication to the earth once again and have opened my eyes to eternity. This is why I'm a Mormon!

How I live my faith

Day by day, the walk of life provides interaction with strangers, business associates, friends and family. I strive to provide a warm outreach to all and enact character traits exemplified by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Although I am imperfect and fall short as I try live and promote His teachings, I am reminded as I accepted callings and assignments in the Lord's church, that following the Savior is a process combined with desire to be more like Him. This desire creates energy to be better, serve more, and be kinder to those around me. I have the priviledge of teaching, counseling, serving, speaking and singing as part of my desire to serve. i try my best to share the principles and teachings of the Savior as I live each day on the earth.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Kevin
The blessings of reading scriptures provides a wonderful perspective of faith, trials, successes of individuals and peoples of the past. Revelations recorded by modern day prophets and apostles provide solid evidence that God still speaks today. Reading the Bible provides the wonderful teachings of the old world and brings us closer to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Reading the Book of Mormon provides a clear picture of the Savior's plan for each of us through prophets and peoples who walk the earth in the America's. Together the "Stick of Judah" (Bible) and the "Stick of Joseph" (Book of Mormon), as prophesied by Ezekiel, would become "one in our hand". These scriptures truly outline our purpose as individuals and provides a brighter outlook and understanding of our destiny as individuals and families. Show more Show less
