Hi I'm Holli

Hi I'm Holli, I'm a Mommy, a Military Wife, and a Mormon

About Me

I am a young mother of two little girls and a military wife. My husband and I have a great love for the outdoors and spend as much time outdoors as we can. I stay busy taking care of and playing with my two little girls, our puppy, and keeping the house in order, in what little "free" time I can find I enjoy quilting, baking, and yoga. Due to my husbands career in the last few years we've moved several times and no longer live near any family. After high school I did not have the resources to attend college and immediately entered the workforce, I worked a good job for a few years then quit to be a stay-home Mommy. One day in the future I hope to go back to school, but for now there is nothing more important for me than taking care of my little girls and being supportive and loving to my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

There are several reasons why I have decided to be a member of this church. First and formost, I believe what is being taught, and believing it gives me the strenght to live up to the standards Jesus Christ has set. There is nothing in this gospel that doesn't make sense, it is very straightforward and very organized and I like that. There really are no secrets, and everyone is given the same opportunities. Another reason is simply because I feel welcome in this church. With my husband's career he is gone for long periods of time and I am left home alone with two children and a puppy and things get a little out of hand, during these times I can always count on the members of the church to be there if I need help. So many blessings have come into my life because I have chosen to be a part of this gospel. I believe it with all my heart, I know it's true. I feel the Spirit of the Lord when I kneel to pray, I hear the answers He whispers when I have a question. I have read the Book of Mormon and I have felt the power and truth of it. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that Thomas S. Monson is our prophet today. I have no doubt in my mind that this church is true and I hope that one day everyone can find the happiness that this gospel has brought me.

How I live my faith

Currently I teach the 12 and 13 year old girls, this has been a very good experience for me. These young women have such strong testimonies and I feel so blessed to be a part of their lives. Teaching these girls and spending time with them will, I hope, give me the knowledge I'll need when my children are teenagers. I try to live my life so I am an example for these girls and my own daughters. I find it very easy to take time out of my life to teach these girls and attend their weekly activites because I enjoy it so much.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Yes. I firmly belive that, once a family has been sealed in the temple, they can be a family forever. When my husband and I were sealed on our wedding day the spirit testified to me that we would be together not only thru this life, but thru the eternities as well. Every time I look at my children, but most especially the first time I held them after birth I knew in my heart that the plan of salvation is true and that, as long as we live as we should, we will always be a family. With my husbands career in the military this knowledge gives me great comfort, although the world may take him away from time to time or for long periods of time, we will have the eternities to be together, we are a family and families are forever. Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith had a great part in organizing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but we do not worship him. I belive that it is important to understand Joseph Smith's life and trials in order to fully understand and have a testimony of this Gospel. Show more Show less
