Hi I'm Todd

Father, Geek, IT Leader, Scouter, Eagle Scout, Brazil Lover. Star Wars, Social Media & Politics Junkie & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

While I was born in Utah, I've spent most of my life in Idaho, Minnesota, and Arizona. I also lived in Brazil for two years serving a mission for my church and helping the people throughout the state of São Paulo. I am fluent in Brazilian Portuguese. I was born to parents who were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but had to develop my own faith in Christ and learn the truths of the gospel for myself like we all do. I'm the proud husband to an amazing woman who is the perfect companion to me and mother to our three children. We were married in the Jordan River Temple. I work in the Healthcare industry for a major medical institution. I'm a leader in the Information Technology organization of the organization and have worked in the IT field for about 20 years. I'm an Eagle Scout, and remain active in the Scouting organization having served as Scoutmaster, and on Wood Badge staff. I was a Scoutmaster for a Troop from Minnesota for the National Scout Jamboree in 2010. I believe the Scout Oath and Law are great structure to help youth understand more about doing their

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have studied the gospel of Jesus Christ, have prayed for myself to ask my Heavenly Father what is true, and have received from him personally a witness that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His church restored to the earth in our day. I have had this witness re-manifest to me on frequent occasions throughout my life, and have seen the blessings of the gospel manifest in peoples lives in many miraculous ways. I believe that we have a Prophet on the earth today, and that following his counsel is heeding counsel from God and will bring us true happiness in this life.

How I live my faith

I currently teach the 11 year old youth in our church for Sunday School, and am also the Scoutmaster for the 11-year-old Boy Scouts in our Troop. I have served in many different leadership capacities over the years (including Branch President - which is the lay Minister of a smaller congregation called a "Branch" and Elders Quorum President which is a Priesthood leader in the a larger congregation called a "Ward") and am always happy to serve where the Lord asks me to and try to do my best to do what is asked of me. I am also a Home Teacher, meaning my companion and I (my son) have been asked to visit a couple of families in our Ward and share spiritual messages on a monthly basis, as well as help their family with any spiritual or temporal need they may have. I've helped care for and give priesthood blessings to sick family members and have seen them return to health, provided comfort for grieving parents or spouses who have lost children, have spoken at funerals, and helped people who have lost jobs or gone through other hardships. This I believe this is how Christ expects us to care for and show love to our Neighbors. I regularly provide service in various capacities. In the Boy Scouts we've helped the community in many ways. At Church I've taught lessons, left home and paid my own way to serve a mission for two years in Brazil, set up thousands of chairs, and have helped move thousands of boxes and pieces of furniture as people move into and out of the area. I've also helped provide relief from disasters like floods where I've mucked out wheelbarrows full of mud from basements and carried people's prized belongings to a heaping pile on the curb and have provided them comfort and support through the restoration of their home. Serving and caring for others is how I try to follow the example of Jesus Christ.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Todd
This is one of the greatest reasons I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and the doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Because of this doctrine, and confirmations I have received by the confirmation of the Holy Ghost, I know that if I am faithful I will be able to live with my dear wife and children for eternity because of our marriage in the Temple of God, sealed by His holy priesthood. This great blessing is available to all those who wish to be with their family for eternity and are willing to obey his commandments, be baptized, and covenant with God. Show more Show less
