Hi I'm Aaron

I grew up as a military brat in Germany with a stint in the Marshall Islands. I'm now a husband and a father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a young father of a beautify baby girl. Right now I am in college and plan on graduating in 2013 as a biology and chemistry teacher. Oddly enough, though, I am working as a computer support representative (tech support guy) because I love computers almost as much as I love teaching and learning about other sciences.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of this church and so I was constantly taught about living a good life and about God's plan for us. As most children probably do, I followed what they taught at times and disobeyed at other times. When I was about twelve, my values that I had been taught started slipping a bit, but I went to a church camp for a week when I was fourteen and saw that church and believing in God really could be a cool things. More importantly, I learned that living God's teachings made me a lot happier. After the camp, though, I didn't reform myself overnight, but a seed was planted in me that began to grow for the next couple of years. When I was sixteen, I finally started to make changes in my life that helped me better follow Christ. There were a few events that triggered the change, though. My family moved, which finally took me away from some of my distractions, and we also got to spend a few months in Utah where there are a lot of members of the church on our way to our new place. In the place I previously lived, there were only a few families in the area who were members of the church. In Utah, I made friends with some people who seemed really strong with their faith and were really happy. From then on, I started to relearn those principles my parents taught me as child and started to really live them. Even after we reached our new home where there were again fewer members of our church, I carried my new excitement for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Ever since then, I have tried to grow stronger in my faith and help others grow stronger as well.

How I live my faith

I definitely do not have a perfect life, but I really try to live like a follower of Christ and constantly improve. As I have been married for almost two years and have a little baby, I have been trying to incorporate the teachings of Jesus into my small family. It isn't always easy, but I try to help my family have prayers together daily and read in the scriptures together daily. We also have a family night on Mondays where we try to have a fun activity and a spiritual thought. It's all about the little things. I try to always have a positive attitude, I look for spontaneous opportunities to help others, and I plan service opportunities like volunteering as a tutor at my university. As far as church goes, I try to prepare for the lessons we have by studying the scripture sections we will be going over. In the church, each man has a responsibility to visit a few assigned families each month to see how they are doing and to share a brief spiritual message. Each man is paired up with another man from the church so I get to visit a few families each month with my neighbor.
